Grades K–5 Academics

At Saint Teresa School, the Kindergarten through Grade 5 academic program provides a strong foundation in both faith and learning. Rooted in Gospel values and a commitment to academic excellence, our curriculum is designed to support the whole child—intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, and socially.

Engaged Learning with Purpose

Students are active participants in their learning. Through project-based and activity-centered instruction, they become independent and thoughtful learners. Our teachers design lessons that ignite curiosity, encourage creativity, and promote collaboration — while always holding students to high academic standards.

Core Curriculum

  • Religion: Faith formation is woven into daily life. Students learn about Scripture, Catholic teachings, prayer, and service to others. Weekly Mass, seasonal celebrations, and service projects help nurture a personal relationship with God. Students are encouraged to live their faith daily.
  • Language Arts: Our balanced literacy program emphasizes reading fluency, comprehension, writing, speaking, and listening. Students explore a wide range of literature and develop strong foundational skills in grammar, spelling, and vocabulary.
  • Mathematics: Students build number sense, problem-solving strategies, and logical thinking through a comprehensive, hands-on math curriculum that includes arithmetic, geometry, and early algebraic thinking.
  • Science: Through inquiry-based learning, students explore life, earth, and physical sciences. They observe, question, and experiment, building curiosity and critical thinking skills.
  • Social Studies: Lessons in community, geography, history, and civics encourage students to understand their role as informed and responsible citizens locally and globally.

Specialist Subjects

In addition to the core curriculum, students participate in a variety of enrichment classes that include:

  • Art
  • Music
  • Physical Education
  • Library/Media Literacy/Technology
  • Spanish

High Expectations, With Support

We challenge our students to aim high, work hard, and take pride in their achievements — all while offering the support they need to grow. Teachers differentiate instruction to meet a range of learning needs, and students are encouraged to take ownership of their progress and behavior. We believe that every child is capable of success when guided by faith, nurtured with love, and inspired by purpose.

Faith in Action

Catholic identity is central to everything we do. Students learn to live out their faith through daily prayer, acts of kindness, and a strong sense of community and service.. As a Catholic school, we integrate faith into every subject and every moment. Weekly mass, daily prayer, religious instruction, and a Christ-centered classroom culture help students grow in virtue, character, and love for God and others.
