Tennis Information

Our tennis program at Saint Teresa School continues to grow—bringing confidence, coordination, and court skills to student-athletes at every level.

We’re proud to now offer two divisions:

  • Junior Division – Grades 4–6
  • Grammar Division – Grades 6–8
6th graders may play in either division based on skill level but must commit to one for the full season. This may be up to the coaches' discretion.

Whether students are brand new to the sport or already have match experience, our program provides an inclusive, encouraging space to develop strong fundamentals, good sportsmanship, and a love for the game.

Practices & Matches

Practice Locations: Slater Park Tennis Courts or Veterans Memorial Tennis Courts

Practice Schedule: 2–3 times per week

Match Schedule: Varies based on opponent availability and division

Coaching
The team is led by Coach Sean McLelland, a dedicated parent volunteer whose passion for the game and patient instruction help our Eagles improve every time they step on the court.

Students learn proper technique, court etiquette, and match play while developing self-discipline, focus, and confidence—on and off the court.

Parents & Volunteers Needed!
Our sports programs continue to thrive—and we're currently looking for additional coaches to support our new 4–6th grade team. If you're interested in coaching, assisting, or volunteering, we’d be thrilled to have you!

We're also exploring the possibility of adding Pickleball in the future—so if you’re a fan of the sport and willing to help launch something new, let us know!

To coach or volunteer, all adults must complete a BCI background check and take the P.L.A.C.T. training through the Catholic Athletic League.

For more information about coaching, volunteering, or if you have any additional questions, please email our Athletic Director, Kelly Bonner, at kbonner@stspawtucket.com

Space Is Limited
Please note that all sports have minimum and maximum roster sizes in order to compete in the Catholic Athletic League. Space is limited, and teams may fill up quickly—so we encourage families to register as early as possible.

Placement is not guaranteed once a team reaches capacity.
