At Saint Teresa School we are committed to using data-driven approaches to support student growth and academic success. One important tool we use is Renaissance Star Assessments, a trusted and research-based assessment system for grades 3 through 8.
Assessment Overview
Students in grades 3–8 take the Renaissance Star tests three times each year—once in the fall, again in the winter, and finally in the spring. These short, computer-adaptive assessments measure key skills in reading and mathematics and provide valuable insights into each student's academic progress.
Why We Use Renaissance Star
- Identify Student Needs
The assessments help pinpoint specific strengths and areas for improvement for each student, allowing for more personalized support. - Inform Instruction
Teachers use the data to tailor their instruction, adjust pacing, and group students effectively for targeted learning. - Evaluate Program Effectiveness
School leaders use assessment results to review the effectiveness of instructional strategies, curriculum choices, and intervention programs.
How It Helps Your Child
Renaissance Star provides a reliable snapshot of how your child is performing relative to grade-level expectations and national benchmarks. It allows us to track progress over time and ensure that each student receives the support they need to succeed.
